§ 15.04.080. Floor joists—Specifications.

All floor joists must rest four inches over foundation walls and three inches over crosswalls or girders, except flush beams may be used with metal hangers or ribbons. All joists must be crossed-bridged, with maximum span of eight feet, and minimum size of bridging one inch by three inches, or metal bridging, double nailed at each end. Where subfloor is not used, fire-stops must be put in throughout on all floors.
