§ 8.08.070. Truck identification—Hours of collection.

  • Each licensee shall furnish to the city identification, including motor serial numbers for each truck, used or to be used in the collection or hauling of debris, garbage, refuse or rubbish, which shall be furnished prior to the beginning of operation of such truck. In addition, each vehicle used by a licensee for the collection or hauling of debris, garbage, refuse or rubbish shall have the licensee's name displayed prominently on the truck at all times the vehicle is operating within the city, with the name to be displayed on both sides of the truck in lettering with a minimum height of three inches. A licensee with a truck with a gross weight under sixteen thousand pounds shall not operate within the city other than between the hours of five a.m. and nine p.m. A licensee with a single axle truck or a dual tandem truck with hydraulic front axles exceeding the weight of sixteen thousand pounds shall not operate within the city other than between the hours of five a.m. and ten a.m. In addition, the work shall be performed so as to cause or present the least nuisance or menace to the public health and welfare of the population of the city. Each license applicant shall obtain prior approval as to the manner and time of collection from the city council.
