§ 5.36.050. Withholding license—Revocation.

  • Application for any license required hereunder may be denied by the mayor with approval of a majority of the city council, provided that the city council shall find the issuance of such license would be detrimental to the best interest of the city. After a license has been issued, it may be revoked by a majority vote of the city council upon recommendation by the mayor; provided, that the licensee shall be given written notice of his right to appear before the city council at a meeting at which the city council proposes to consider such revocation and to present evidence on his own behalf. If the city council, after giving the licensee the opportunity to appear at such meeting, determines that it is in the best interest of the city to do so, it shall have the right to revoke the license.
