§ 5.12.070. Tank—Clearance—Sewers, cesspools, wells.

  • Individual tanks of a capacity up to two thousand gallons shall be buried so that the top of tanks shall be lower than the bottom level of all sewers, manholes, catch basins, cesspools, septic tanks, wells or cisterns within ten feet, on or off the property or tanks shall maintain a full clearance of ten feet thereto. For individual tanks with a capacity of more than two thousand gallons and up to six thousand gallons, this distance shall be twenty feet. For individual tanks of a capacity of more than six thousand gallons, and up to twelve thousand gallons, this distance shall be twenty-five feet. The term "sewer" includes sewer line out of station building; provided, however, that these clearances shall not be required to a sewer line out of station if such sewer line is constructed throughout of cast iron with leaded joints.
