§ 2.17.010. Creation and purposes.
A committee for the city, to be known as the senior board, is created pursuant to the authority of Illinois Statutes for purposes of coordinating or carrying out programs designed to enhance and enrich the quality of life for and to meet and address the problems of aging faced by the senior citizens of the city. Toward those ends, the senior board shall manage and operate the city's senior center and shall develop, recommend to the city council for approval, and implement policies and rules governing the utilization and maintenance thereof.
