§ 2.04.050. Compensation and salaries.

  • A.

    The mayor shall receive an annual salary of five thousand dollars, paid in monthly installments. In addition to the annual salary, the mayor shall be paid twenty dollars for each special meeting of the city council attended and twenty dollars for each study session and twenty dollars for each committee meeting attended.

    B.

    Aldermen shall be paid sixty dollars for each regular meeting of the city council attended; twenty dollars for each special meeting of the city council attended; and twenty dollars for each committee meeting attended.

    C.

    The city clerk shall receive an annual salary of no less than six thousand two hundred dollars and paid in monthly installments. In addition to the annual salary, the city clerk shall be paid twenty dollars for each special meeting of the city council attended and twenty dollars for each study session and twenty dollars for each committee meeting attended. The salary may be reviewed and adjusted.

    D.

    The city treasurer shall receive an annual salary of twelve thousand dollars, paid in monthly installments. In addition to the annual salary, the city treasurer shall be paid twenty dollars for each special meeting of the city council attended and twenty dollars for each study session and twenty dollars for each committee meeting attended.

    E.

    The city collector's salary shall be fixed by the city council in the annual appropriation and budget ordinance, and the salary shall be paid in bi-weekly installments, and shall be paid one-third from the general budget, and one-third each out of monies collected in and through the water and wastewater departments respectively.

    F.

    In lieu of regular compensation for committee meetings, the chair of that meeting shall receive thirty dollars.

    G.

    In the absence of the mayor from a regular meeting of the city council, the mayor pro-tem shall receive the mayor's salary for that meeting, in lieu of aldermanic pay.

    H.

    All changes in compensation established in this section shall be effective with the first pay period following the election in April of 1991, as to those persons elected at that time, and effective with the first pay period following the April 1993 election as to all others.
