§ 15.04.310. Board of appeals-Creation and membership.

  • A board of appeals is established. The board shall consist of three members appointed by the mayor, with the consent of the city council. The members of the board shall serve respectively for the following terms, or until their respective successors are appointed and qualified: One for one year; one for two years; and one for three years. The successor to each member so appointed shall serve for a term of three years. One of the members of the board shall be designated chairman of the board by the mayor and shall hold his office as chairman until his successor is appointed. Such chairman, or, in his absence, the acting chairman, may administer oaths and compel the attendance of witnesses. The mayor and city council shall have the power to remove any member of the board for cause and after a public hearing. Vacancies upon the board shall be filled for the unexpired term of the member whose place has become vacant and in the manner herein provided for the appointment of such member.
