  • "School crossing signal" means a permanently mounted electrically operated signal device equipped with two-way, two-color (red and yellow) signal heads together with a diamond-shaped, single-faced sign reading "School Crossing," by which at predetermined times and when actuated by pushbutton, traffic is directed to stop so as to permit school children to cross the street or highway safely.
