§ 10.05.010. Trucks weighing in excess of eight tons.

  • A.

    All trucks and commercial vehicles, except as provided in this chapter, having a gross weight, including the weight of the vehicle or a combination of the vehicle and its load, in excess of eight tons, shall be prohibited from operating, standing or going upon any street or highway within the city, other than streets designated as state highways. Nothing contained in this chapter shall be considered as prohibiting delivery trucks of all weights from going upon any posted or designated street or highway within the city for the purpose of loading or unloading cargo or merchandise at an address thereon.

    B.

    The city shall designate such streets or highways within the city over which the operation of vehicles weighing in excess of eight tons is prohibited.

    C.

    Each street or highway shall be designated by appropriate signs placed upon and along such streets and highways which signs shall specify the maximum weight allowed on such street or highway.
